Why Land Investment > Why Tropical Hardwood?
Hardwood investing is not a new concept. Bloomberg Wealth Management stated “Hardwood has quietly and consistently out performed nearly all other commodities for the past 100 years”. However to make a large fortune from plantations investing you previously needed at least a small one to begin with.
What sets Costa Rica Invest apart is that we do not just sell land investments. We also sell building land with hardwood trees, providing a double return on investment and at the same time a double cover for the investor, making our offer a very secure and safe investment with a high return.
The outlook of timber investment is today as promising as it was during the twentieth century. In particular, timber investment was is the single best performing asset of the last 30 years. From 1976-2005 timber investments saw average annual returns of over 13%. If you had invested $20,000 in timber in 1972, you'd be sitting on over a million dollars in 2006. That is better than stocks (70% less), real estate (75% less) and bonds (76% less). Timber also has a great long-term track record. Between 1910 and 2000, timber prices rose at an annual rate of 3.3% above the rate of inflation.

AND TEAK OUTPERFORMS ALL OTHER HARDWOODS...
Teak is a fantastic hardwood, one of the best, long-lasting and strong materials used for indoor and outdoor furniture. It is resistant to bad weather and is rich with silica and natural oils, making it resistant to insects. Teak is very suitable for structural works and carved designs due to its sturdiness, elasticity and ease of use. Teak wood does not get rotted or splintered even if it remains in contact with metals like iron for years due to the presence of silica and oil content. The denseness of teak, together with its other qualities, makes it the favorite wood of shipbuilders throughout the world. Because of its stylish design and clean lines, teak wood stands out among all timbers. Wikipedia offers technical information on the amazing teak tree.
Sustainable forestry, properly managed as a selectable and stable investment is more profitable than short term forestry destruction. Not only do plantation plots in Costa Rica secure a very healthy return, but you will also be directly responsible for reducing the demand placed on our natural rainforests. Our Costa Rican hardwood plantation land is ready for immediate development, no zoning is required. Each plot of development land is planted with 11, 14 or 18 year old Teak, Melina or Pochote trees and are either bordering the public road or have sea/river views. These building plots commonly show the most rapid price increases. The timber building plots vary from approximately 1000 to 45000 square meters, with the 45000 square meters plots being ideally suited for re-division into smaller building plots, after the final felling of the trees in approximately 6 years. You may maintain the property yourself or pay a mere US$100 per 1000 square meters annually for maintenance.
