The Exit Plan
What are my exit strategies when investing in tropical hardwood plantations?
Investing in tropical hardwood plantations and development land is safe and flexible. Not only will you receive staged payments from the thinning of your trees, but you also have several options for exit strategies, before and after the trees have reached maturity.
Transfer/Sell: At any point in time, you can transfer or sell your trees and Costa Rican building land as an appreciating asset to whomever you choose.
Harvest/Sell: You can immediately request to have your trees harvested and the management company will sell your hardwood for you. You then have the option to sell the development land to whomever you choose.
Harvest/Develop: Harvest and sell the teak at maturity and then develop your own villa on your personal piece of paradise.
Harvest/Replant: You can harvest your teak trees at maturity and then replant teak or another tropical hardwood on your plantation plot for a further return.
Allow the teak to mature further: A number of our investors have longer term plans for their tropical hardwood and building plot investments (a child’s education, a child’s first home, personal retirement) and of course you can allow the teak trees to mature beyond 20 years, then harvest the teak and sell the land or develop the land yourself.
Rest assured, at Costa Rica Invest, we are experts in the sale and promotion of teak plantation lots and would be happy to assist you with the resale of your planted building plots and any other long term goals you wish to realize with your investment.
